PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE at THE AMERICAN THEATRE

Join us for the most exciting and creative summer ever at our theater arts camps for kids! Our talented staff will help your child discover their inner performer and bring their talents to the stage over four weeks of camps in different areas of theatre arts. Don't miss out on this unforgettable opportunity for your child to shine in a variety of performing arts!

Half-day camps are scheduled for the weeks beginning June 19th and June 26th, Monday through Friday, and a two week block starting July 10th. Hours are 1:00 – 4:00 PM for kids 8 – 13 years old. After care is available between 4:00-5:00 PM for an additional cost.

CAMPROV: COMEDY IMPROV FOR KIDS - $220 Early Bird/ $225

Join us for a hilarious week of improv and comedy! Learn the secrets to making people laugh, think and act in the moment, and put your new skills to the test in a final showcase. Note no class 6/19 in observance of Juneteenth.

MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE CAMP - $220 early Bird/ $225

Experience the ultimate musical theatre summer camp for future Broadway stars! Learn choreography from Broadway shows. Show off your newly acquired skills with a final showcase. Join the Broadway community and let your love of musical theatre shine!

VISUAL ARTS SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE at the CHARLES H. TAYLOR VISUAL ARTS CENTER

Register your young artist and join The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center this summer for 4-weeks of fun and creativity during our Summer Camps for ages 8 to 13 year olds. We offer week-long summer art camps in various mediums, taught by professional artists, who lead students in the creative process, encourage exploration, and produce one-of-a-kind projects! This art adventure includes a variety of art forms – printmaking, drawing, painting, and 3D works. For new or experienced artists, this is your opportunity to try different things and experiment all week.

Half-day camps are scheduled for the weeks of July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31, Monday through Friday. Hours are 9 am to 12 noon for ages 8 – 13 years old with before care available for an additional fee.

Drawing FUN-damanetals - $220 Early Bird/ $225

Mornings, 9:00 – 12:00, 7/10/2023 – 7/14/2023, The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center

Young artists will explore a variety of drawing media, including pencil, pen and ink, colored pencil, pastel and charcoal as they learn about drawing still, portrait, landscape and other subjects. They will discover line, shape, and design as they expand their drawing skills.

PRINTS and PATTERNS - $220 early Bird/ $225

Mornings, 9:00 – 12:00, 7/17/2023 – 7/21/2023, The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center

Learn to create works of art in a fun environment using a variety of printmaking methods. Students will explore relief, mono-print and gelli prints to create prints that use expression, abstraction and realism. Some prints will be transformed into mixed media.

PARTY PINATAS - $220 early Bird/ $225

Mornings, 9:00 – 12:00, 7/24/2023 – 7/28/2023, The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center

Students will let their creativity shine as they design and create their own unique piñatas. Kids will be guided through the process, from creating a base for the piñata, to adding layers of paper mâché, tissue paper, and paint to create the desired shape and color. Children will have the opportunity to decorate their piñata using a variety of materials, such as feathers, glitter, and more.

PET PORTRAITS FOR KIDS - $220 early Bird/ $225

Mornings, 9:00 – 12:00, 7/31/2023 – 8/4/2023, The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center

Young aspiring artists will have the chance to learn the basics of drawing and painting while creating portraits of their beloved pets. Our experience instructor will guide kids through the process of creating a portrait, starting with learning how to draw the basic shapes and proportions of their pet’s face. Children will then learn how to add details and shading to create a lifelike portrait.
