The Marvelous Wonderettes are back in a Hampton Arts Production!
Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy are entertaining at the 1968 holiday party for Harper’s Hardware. Family, friends and employees are all in attendance, and the Wonderettes transform the hardware store into a magical winter wonderland. Keeping with tradition, Mr. Harper is scheduled to appear as Santa Claus and pass out the much-anticipated bonuses. When Mr. Harper goes missing, the girls find something they weren't expecting! The Wonderettes must find a way to get back into the holiday spirit and track down Mr. Harper.
Enjoy Christmas classics like "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree", "Jingle Bell Rock", "Sleigh Ride", and "Jingle Bells" while getting a taste of romance with "What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?" and "Santa Baby".
Showcasing festive costumes, stellar voices, and fantastic vocal arrangements, Winter Wonderettes is a terrific way to continue the yuletide celebration into the New Year. This energetic and glittering holiday package, featuring the versatile talents of Jenna Pastuszek (Suzy), Rebecca Robbins (Missy), Amanda Jill Robinson (Betty Jean), and Kayla Tarpley (Cindy Lou), is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.
Hampton Arts Artistic Director Richard M. Parison, Jr. directs the production in collaboration with Walnut Street Theatre, where he spent nearly a decade as Casting Director. “I’m thrilled to bring this festive production to Hampton,” said Mr. Parison. “The holidays always pass so quickly, but this year we’re giving Coastal Virginia audiences an excuse to keep celebrating.”
The rest of the creative team includes Billy Thompson (Music and Vocal Director), Karen Getz (Choreography), Colin McIlvaine (Set Design), Robert Perry (Lighting Design), Amanda Wolff (Costume Design), John Kolbinski (Sound Design), and Catherine Hagner (Stage Manager).
