On September 29, 2018, Emily Skinner, known best for her Tony-nominated role as Daisy Hilton in Side Show, will perform a one-night only concert at The American Theatre. Skinner, a veteran of the stage, has spent more than twenty years entertaining audiences in classics like Into the Woods, Follies, and Dreamgirls. She was hand-picked as the first American to play the role of Billy's dance teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson, for which she received a Broadway World Award for her performance. Most recently she appeared in Prince of Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club.
The "Broadway Under the Stars" Gala not only celebrates 31 years of Hampton Arts, but allows us to present John Lawson and Robert F. Shuford with the Coastal Virginia Renaissance Award in recognition of long-term commitment to performing and visual arts in the region. After the concert, you'll enjoy dinner, drinks, dessert and a few surprises throughout the night!
