The Small Works: Miniatures by Tidewater Artists

Exciting things are happening at The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center! Over 250 artists from the Hampton Roads area were warmly invited to use their creative minds and create art in any media. All artists had the choice between creating a two or three dimensional piece. To keep things miniature there were restrictions of 20 square inches and a 4.5’” cube, respectively. This may seem like a tall task for some but over 235 artists accepted the challenge.  You will find a total of 457 artworks in the gallery from all types of media, ranging from watercolor, sculpture, and glass to ceramic.  Even though the works of art are smaller, it’s apparent that the artists are dedicated with their excruciate detail in each piece.
