A Conversation with John Rollison
A Unique Journey Into The American Revolution!
Historical interpreter James Cameron embodies John Rollison, a wealthy free man of color and patriot -- whose remarkable story sheds new light on the American Revolution.
Through lively storytelling, audience interaction, and Q&A, participants gain deeper insight into the struggles and triumphs before, during, and after the Revolution. Rollison, a respected Virginia businessman, stood in solidarity with Thomas Nelson, Patrick Henry, and Peyton Randolph as a signer of the Virginia Committee for Correspondence in 1773, and later joined the York County Committee for Safety alongside Thomas Nelson Jr., a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Known to have conducted business with George Washington and conversed with Thomas Jefferson, Rollison's legacy highlights the vital role of American-born Africans in shaping the nation's founding.
History truly comes alive through one man's extraordinary story.
