Review: The Richmond family hasn't exactly had a glorious history as it was Cyrus Richmond (Gordon Price), a Confederate commander in times of the Civil War, who ordered the massacre of a group of black prisoners of war in the woods surrounding Saltville. But more than 150 years down the line, his descendant Grady Richmond (Gordon Price) has made it to one of the most respectable citizens of Saltville as a successful lawyer. But he has fallen on hard times of late as his wife Doreen (Kera O'Byron) is suffering from cancer, and her treatment pretty much costs Grady his last penny - but help's on the horizon in the form of land developer Kaufman (Lloyd Kaufman), who wants to build a ski resort near Saltville, and he needs someone like Grady to be his fixer, since Grady can't afford to be too scrupulous, and he's in good standings with Judge Royal (Richard Ross), who's always more than happy to help - for a price. So for the resort itself they decide to depopulate the neighouring primarly black community Concord Pike, even going so far as to lying to the local Reverend (Lamont Ferguson), just so he helps their cause. And for the ski slopes they choose a mountain that has for generations belonged to outcast family the Blubloods - who might or might not have something to do with the disappearance of Grady's sister Eva (Kennedy Nordin) some 20 years ago. Thing is, the Blubloods are not going to give their mountain up just like that, and those who try to take it usually disappear without a trace ...
