A joyful musical set during Hollywood's transition from silent films to "talkies." Don Lockwood, a silent film star, struggles to adapt to sound films with his leading lady, whose voice is less than ideal. To save their careers, they turn the film into a musical with the help of a talented newcomer, Kathy Selden.
