Varla Jean Merman (aka Jeffery Roberson) is guaranteed to steal the show no matter where she is. As an international singer, actress, and chanteuse, she has filled cabarets and concert halls around the world including, Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and London’s Solo Theatre. In 2011, Varla starred in the musical, Lucky Guy, with the legendary late Leslie Jordan in New York at the Little Schubert.
Varla has left her mark all over television and Broadway, having appeared in productions such as Ugly Betty, Project Runway, Chicago, and All My Children. Along with co-stars Miss Coco Peru and Evie Harris, Merman shared the Best Actor Grand Jury Award at Outfest 2003 and “Best Actress” honors at both the 2003 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and the 2003 Aspen HBO Film Festival for her role in “Girls
Will Be Girls.”
