Día de los Muertos

This widely observed holiday focuses on remembering family members and friends who have passed away. This originates from the ancient indigenous peoples of Mexico who believed that the souls of the dead return each year to visit with their living relatives – to eat, drink and be merry.  This free event the preparation of an altar where members of the community can share a prayer, light a candle or bring a memento to place as an offering for loved ones as well as music by Mariachi America. Craft stations include making paper marigolds, Day of the Dead masks, and creating papel picado. Food trucks will be onsite.
